Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is, apparently, godless. Following up on yesterday's blog post, here's a bit more info. A 17-year-old Eagle Scout requested an American flag to honor his veteran grandfather, along with an inscription about God, country, and family on the certficate of authenticity. When he received his flag and certificate, he found the architect's office had censored the word 'God' off the certificate. The family contacted their Congressman, Rep. Michael Turner (Rep, OH), who is now taking up the cause, along with other Republicans, to restore the word 'God' on the certificates.
Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi was asked about the architect's decision, and she said she has no plans to change the existing rules. Apparently, the top Democrat in the free world -- remember, she's next in line after the Vice President -- doesn't think it's important to have 'God' as a part of an American flag's authenticity.
House Minority Leader John Boehner has called on Pelosi to make this change, and hopefully the pressure will escalate to such that God will be restored.
If you call yourself a Christian, you should be angry at this. It is just the latest attempt to remove all references to God from the American establishment, despite the historically documented PROOF of the influence of God. Contrary to what liberals like to say, the 'separation of church and state' is NOT part of the U.S. Constitution. It was actually a phrase used in a letter by Jefferson years after the Constitution was established, and it was actually referring to the prevention of a state-sanctioned religion, as was the case with the official Church of England at the time - the intent was to keep the state out of church business, not to keep the church out of state business! This phrase has been totally twisted out of context.
Call your reps, call Boehner. Tell them to restore God in American government.
There's my two cents.

Well said - you are right on the money. We need to get the word out about their stripping away God from our heritage.
I posted a story a while back that said that the tours at the Supreme Court are calling the relief of Moses and the Ten Commandments, "One of our country's leaders holding the law in his hands..."
It is despicable.
