Hillary Clinton's Slippery Financing

Well, the story keeps getting better and better for Hillary Clinton and her fundraising antics.

Let's start with Norman Hsu, the felon who is one of the big-shot fundraisers nicknamed 'Hillraisers'. Hsu is one of the best fundraisers for Clinton and the Democrat party at large, bringing in $1.2 million in the last four years. When the news came out that he was a convicted felon who skipped out on his sentencing hearing after the previous conviction 15 years ago, Clinton immediately put space between herself and him. But, that wasn't the end of it. Hsu again skipped out of town, 'surprising' his attorney and state prosecutors. Today, Hsu was arrested in Colorado after he was taken off an Amtrak train; apparently, he was quite ill.

More shady details are coming out all the time, though. For example, Hsu wasn't registered to vote, and there is some suspicion that he may not be a legal U.S. citizen after all. We'll see how that pans out.

Another very interesting detail from this episode is a chart showing a comparison of the contributions from Jack Abramoff and Norman Hsu. Though Abramoff raised a total of $3.7 million with 70% of that going to Republicans, Hsu brought in almost $2 million with 99.94% going to Democrats.

As of yesterday, Hillary and her campaign were stone-walling authorities trying to determine Hsu's contacts in an effort to find him before he skipped out of the U.S. While Clinton would most certainly have liked to see Hsu get away, and though the feds caught Hsu without her help, she needs to be held accountable for impeding a federal investigation.

The most disturbing part of this, though, is that it's a pattern of behavior on the part of the Clintons. Michelle Malkin summarizes the similarities between the episode with Hsu and the numerous campaign finance scandals with Bill Clinton in 1996.

R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. goes into much more detail, outlining the numerous previous Clinton-China connections clear back to the late 1980s.

I'm beginning to think that Hillary winning the Democrat nomination would be a good thing - with ammunition like this, the Republican nominee would have to be completely inept to lose.

There's my two cents.
