Taking A Stand For Free Speech

Marie's Two Cents posts an encouragement to get involved in this fight over the Rush Limbaugh (non-scandal) scandal. Not only to defend Rush -- who has been one of the leaders in the conservative movement, and one of the main voices proclaiming truth and honesty out there -- but also to fight the larger campaign of silencing dissent. That's what's at stake here - if Media Matters and the Democrats win, all opposition will be silenced.

Also posted there is a link to a citizen letter to Harry Reid demanding an apology for his support of censorship on this mess. When I signed it, there were well over 10,000 signatures already there - go add your name to the list!

Marie's post contains some quotes (from Mike's America) from Democrats that simply cannot (and should not) be ignored:
Senator Harry Reid: "That this war is lost, and that the surge is not accomplishing anything."

Senator John Kerry: "If you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Congressman John Murtha: "Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood."

Senator Dick Durbin: "If I read this to you and didn't tell you it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have happened by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime, Pol Pot or others that had no concern for human beings."

Senator Barrack Hussein Obama: "we’ve got to get the job done there [Afghanistan], and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there."

Senator Chuck Schumer: "And let me be clear. The violence in Anbar has gone down in spite of the Surge, not because of the Surge. The inability of American soldiers to protect these tribes from Al Qaeda said to these tribes, "We have to fight Al Qaeda ourselves."

Senator Edward Kennedy: "We now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management, U.S. management"
Who is it that has been constantly fighting against our troops, attempting to secure American defeat? Is it really Rush Limbaugh, or is it the very same Democrats who are now accusing Rush Limbaugh? Read their own words and decide for yourself.

There's my two cents.
