In the wake of a poor showing at the most recent debate, Hillary's campaign staff asks for more contributions to perform serious damage control. Her strategy of refusing to get pinned down is starting to backfire on her, and that was shown big-time at the debate; she's starting to make John Kerry look steady as a rock!
US deaths in Iraq lowest since March 2006
As of October 30th, the number of U.S. deaths for the month was 27, the lowest in more than a year and a half. It was also the fifth straight month of decline. But it's not just deaths, it's also the violence: in January there were 2500 attacks; in October, there were just 600. Though the MSM is confused by the dropping statistics, anyone with a brain figured it out long ago: the surge. Of course, American military success isn't 'news', so they're burying it. Shameful.
Improving economy
Don't let the negative headlines fool you. Here are the facts about our economy:
3.9 percent annual growth rate compared with 3.8 percent in the second quarter and 0.6 percent in the first quarter; it was the fastest growth since the first quarter of 2006; consumer spending expanded at more than twice its rate in the second quarter with a surge in sales of big-ticket products like appliances and furniture; businesses spent more, with producer expenditures growing at a 7.9 percent annual rate; employment continues to show growth, inflation (despite the high cost of fuel) is still under control, the stock market continues merrily along, and corporate profits are generally good.Don't pay attention to the headlines, pay attention to the facts.
Cooperating with the Democrats
Republicans never come out ahead when cooperating with the Democrats. Bush let Kennedy write the education bill, and Kennedy has been one of Bush's biggest enemies for the past several years. Bush didn't clean house in the State Department and other organizations, and he's been besieged with 'leaks' throughout his presidency. Now, he's passed over his first choice for Attorney General to avoid a long partisan fight, instead choosing a 'safe bet' and a 'consensus' nomination Michael Mukasey. But, the Democrats are now starting to withdraw their support. The Republicans are idiots for even attempting to cooperate with these Democrats. Do they not remember ANYthing??
Have a great weekend!
