Style Over Substance

Well, isn't this just typical? NPR reports on a couple of Iowa campaign stops by Hillary and Obama.

Obama
Geri Punteney sought out Barack Obama when he passed through because he 'seemed so sincere'. He talked with her for a while and held her hand, and apparently that was enough to reduce her to tears at his compassion. After promising to write Punteney's brother -- who was dying of cancer -- he left for the next campaign stop.

He never wrote the note.

Hillary
Stopping in at a greasy spoon for a sandwich, Hillary Clintong* made yet another huge PR blunder. She spoke at length with her waitress, a single mom named Anita Esterday with multiple jobs. Esterday was exactly the kind of person Hillary wants to attract, not only for support but also for the sympathy. Anyway, the meal was on the house, but it turns out she stiffed Esterday. Not only that, but she later used Esterday's story on the campaign trail without asking.

What a class act. But wait, there's more...

ABC reports that a Clintong staffer said the meal tab was $157, and they left a $100 tip.

Hm, so now the Clintong campaign is accusing the waitress and restaurant staff of lying...?

Even classier.

Drudge did some digging, and this isn't the first time Clintong has done this. In 2000, she stiffed another single mom after receiving a free meal on her Senate campaign trail.

Aren't the Clintons always talking about how they're rich and don't need a tax break? If that's the case, and if Clinton is really that concerned about the plight of working single moms, why does she continue to mooch free meals and stiff them?

Another pattern people need to be aware of when going to the polls...

There's my two cents.
