On my way to an off-site training session today, I took a route that was temporarily blocked at one point. As I waited, I remembered that Barak the Obamessiah was actually in Kansas City today on a campaign stop.
Yes, yes, hold your envy, people...I was supremely privileged to witness the passing of his campaign motorcade! As I watched the motorcade pass by, it seemed to me that the trees along the roadside leaned in closer, and turned just a bit more green. The colorful flowers swayed in the gentle breeze, and became just a bit more vivid. I could have sworn I heard the faint strains of an ethereal symphony. After the Obamessiah's passing, the world resumed its natural state with an almost tangible sigh of satisfaction. Oh, what a holy moment...
Okay, I have to quit before I start dry-heaving.
I did actually see the motorcade pass by. I noticed that it consisted of at least half a dozen vehicles (not including the police escort, which was significant), including two huge tour buses, a couple of full-sized SUVs (Suburbans, I believe), as well as a couple of full-sized sedans. I wonder if they bought carbon credits to offset all the planet-busting emissions from that motorcade?
In all honesty, I really did get a charge from one particular sight. In a visual scenario amazingly similar to a Hollywood flick, one of the SUVs -- with all of its windows wide open -- was full of sunglasses-adorned Secret Service agents with very large guns. SWEET! I would gladly skip an entire weekend with the Obamessiah for ten minutes of chatting with one of those guys.
There's my two cents.
