VP Update

Senator Joe Biden has now been ordained into the priesthood. Yes, it's now official: Barack the Obamessiah has selected Biden to be his VP. At first glance, Biden brings some significant (and badly-needed) foreign policy experience to the ticket, and will probably also function well as an attack dog for Obama (similar to Dick Cheney's role with George W. Bush).

You can expect to see some immediate ads from McCain with quotes of Biden from the beginning of the primary race saying that Obama isn't ready to lead, that McCain is in better shape to be President, etc. And, Biden has a tendency to pop off his mouth, so who knows what he'll say himself? It should be fun to watch.

The Biden announcement, combined with the Democrat convention in Denver, will probably grab gratuitous headlines, so you won't be able to miss it.

More analysis next week as it comes out.
