What's Barack Up To Now?

Being the number one personality for the MSM, there are no shortages of stories about Barack the Obamessiah.

James Lewis coins a new term for the Obamessiah's followers: Obots. I think it works. Some excerpts:
This is a mid-twenties, delayed adolescent, MTV-impaired, drug-taking, hung-over, well-meaning, ne'er-do-well liberal kid, who is certainly not a racist -- except against his own race, which is just fine by the Left. A white guy sneering at whitey just proves how cool you are. And Barack Obama is his hero because he's black, and Obama's a slick hustler, and well, he's just so cool. Ya know?

I'm happy to live and let live. If you want to kill off your brain cells be my guest. But it's the Obots who may well tip the next election and along with it the fate of this country, at exactly the moment that the crazies in Pyongyang and Tehran are on the point of getting and maybe using their nukes. There's a national nightmare for you.

Senator Obama is playing straight to the empty beer cans in his audiences. Who else believes his high-falutin' jive talk? It's the abuse of fools by knaves --- Harvard and Princeton-educated knaves. That's a disgrace to the Democratic Party, which long ago sold out to race and gender demagogues. Just look at the list, from Pelosi to Hillary and Bill, Kerry the Vietnam back-stabber, Algore the Prophet, Murtha, Reid, John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, the whole sorry crew. What a gang! It's the Dixiecats all over again, with Louis Farakhan and the Black Muslims playing Bull Connor and the KKK. Racism is racism. It doesn't get prettier when blacks do it.

O'bots are cannon fodder in the culture wars; like a pirate of the Caribbean, Obama pushes one overboard every now and then pour encourager les autres. (Just google it, kids.) They make a satisfying splash as they're shoved off the plank, and don't think I don't appreciate it every time it happens. It's just that he's going to appoint 2,700 O'bots in the next US Administration if he wins. For me to feel safe, he'd better start pushing a dozen sixpacks overboard every single day.

If Obama is elected President with working Congressional majority, he will be the most socialist President ever. If, by some miracle, the voters elect forty or more GOP Senators he will have to be more like Bill Clinton --- but then his 2,700 Lefties in government will rule like the Europeans, by means of huge, obscure regulations that nobody understands.

The United States will escape that fate only if Obama loses in a landslide, because that will trigger a nasty civil war for the Democrats. Well, you reap what you sow.

So that's our future; and the deciding votes will be millions of Obots.
Personally, I find it more than a little scary that the election will be decided by millions of people who vote for someone based on the fact that he is cool rather than the issues, but maybe I'm just getting old.

Tony Blankley warns of the Obamessiah's biggest weakness: pride. This is evidenced by the assertion that no one can use his middle name, Hussein. Case in point:
Many people have "funny" names.

[W]e all have found our names perfectly serviceable and would expect people to call us by the names by which we identify ourselves.

But He has made it clear that the mere use of His name would be freighted with coded innuendoes of something too horrible to say straightforwardly. One has to go back to Exodus 3:13-14 to find such strict instructions concerning the use of a name. Moses explained: "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" And God said to Moses, "I Am Who I Am." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I Am has sent me to you.'"
You know what they say about pride going before a fall...

Another way to describe the Obamessiah's pride is to mention the old story about the Emperor's New Clothes:
The Emperor is seduced by his own grandiosity; whenever he blows another elementary fact about the world, his staff just gives him a quick heads-up to tell him what to say next. He's like a bad actor who flubs his lines every single time, just expecting the others to give him his cues. And the ink-stained wretches of the media always give him a pass. Their editors would give them hell if they said anything bad.
[T]he Emperor is protected from hard questions; when he blunders into them he just "uhs," "ahs," and stammers and stumbles. The media give him two or three guesses before he has to settle on his firm convictions -- for that day -- and then he flips again as soon as he feels like it.

This is sheer, open incompetence. Even Bill Clinton is saying it. He's right. Hell, half of the Democratic Party apparatus knows it. They aren't fooled. They're just hoping the rest of us stay fooled.

Obama's millions of immature O'bots are utterly self-deluded, but then they're not mental heavyweights anyway. The O'bots have their eyes shut tight, because looking at the reality of their idol is just too scary.

O'bots live in Hope and Hype; reality is not their strong suit. They just yearn to see His Imperial Majesty's royal crown, his purple robes, his golden sceptre, his bejeweled throne. But it's all self-hypnosis. Scratch the Obama thin veneer of hype for a second and it peels off before your very eyes.
This is the main problem with the Obamessiah and his Obots. Let's take another look at a few details that aren't just analysis. One of the latest Obama associates to be thrown under the bus is Chicago lawyer Mazen Asbahi. Actually, Asbahi threw himself under the bus, resigning because of his links to an Islamic fund and various Islamic groups with ties to terrorism. Of course, in this day and age, should anyone wonder what the problem might be with having a Muslim Outreach Coordinator with ties to terrorists? Not the Obamessiah, apparently. But it doesn't end with his now-former adviser - regardless of his own religious persuasion, the perception that he is a Muslim himself just isn't going away, and that could hurt him in November.

Oh, also, that little thing he talks about while in the Midwest about growing up with Kansas values is...a misrepresentation. And, based on an analysis of a number of his quotes, his patriotism is pretty abstract. Not what we want in a President.

And what about Michelle? She disappeared for quite a while after going in for a makeover, but she seems to be back on the scene again. I'm not sure what that makeover accomplished, but she doesn't seem to be much different. This time she's saying that whining is a no-no in their house. Of course, she whines all the time about all kinds of stuff: stimulus checks, high cost of living, high cost of fruit, insufficient labeling, life in general and men in particular. She's the picture of a First Lady, isn't she?

Some have gone so far as to say that he can't win in November - not that he won't win, but can't. The short version is that his platform is shaping up to be strikingly similar to that of George McGovern, who got slaughtered with it not too many years ago. Steven Warshawsky comes to a similar conclusion, though perhaps not as definite: he won't win. The key reasons are that he's too inexperienced, he's too liberal, and too race-conscious, and in the end American's won't like that. Dick Morris said as much in a recent interview on FoxNews' Hannity and Colmes show - in this time of uncertainty about the economy and foreign enemies, people will want security and a known quantity, so they'll go with McCain when it comes down to it. I hope he's right!

There are certainly some more warning signs: the glorious Obamessiah was actually heckled by a group of blacks in a recent campaign stop. Also, most polls are still showing a very close race between McCain and Obama. Due to the Bradley Effect -- where people respond to exit polls differently than they actually vote, especially due to racial considerations -- this means that if the election were held today, McCain would win easily. I've seen some pundits say that the Bradley Effect could swing as much as 10 percentage points, so Obama would need to have at least an 11-12-point lead to safely overcome the effect against McCain.

Now, let's have a little fun. For his acceptance speech in Denver, the Obots are apparently going to flash a new sign just for the Obamessiah:

Michelle Malkin turns her readers loose on some spoofs. For a few chuckles, check out this link. My favorite is this one:

It's very accurate, you know.

So, there's your Obamessiah update. The mountain of evidence of Obama's unreadiness to lead this country continues piling up.

There's my two cents.
