Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter has taken a vocal stance on the border fence, starting in his own California district in San Diego.
Getting the fence built in his own district has decreased the smuggling of people and drugs by over 90% in that area, and he has pledged -- if he is elected President -- to complete the other 854 miles of border fence in 6 months.
Hunter is a solid conservative, and is trying to break out of the second tier of presidential candidates. He's picked a great issue to ride in that effort - illegal immigration is likely to figure heavily in the next election cycle. It will be good to hear more from Hunter in the next few months.
There's my two cents.
