Illegal Immigration A Quandary For Democrats

The Washington Post has an article about how the illegal immigration issue is a quandary for the Democrats. All of the Democrat candidates are friendly to illegal immigration, but the American public has, in recent months, demonstrated consistent and significant opposition to it.

This, of course, puts Democrats in a precarious position.

Almost all of the Republican candidates have a position much closer to the American people, which will certainly play to their advantage in the general election. In regard to the specific issue which blew up in Hillary's face -- giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens -- a recent CNN poll showed 76% of Americans opposed it.

Illegal immigration has become a 'wedge issue' for both parties now; Republicans have been talking for months about how they would deal with it, but Democrats have been avoiding the topic because they know they're weak on it. No more!

The interesting thing is that some experts think Republicans may suffer in the Latino vote, but at the same time, the African-American vote (traditionally very Democratic) is very much against illegal immigration. Are we about to see a major shift in voting demographics? Time will tell.

Oh, by the way, Hillary's campaign staff put out a memo a few days after the debate debacle - she supports giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens.

Think carefully before you vote for Hillary...she's been quite plain about what you will get if she wins, and driver's licenses for illegal aliens is part of her plan.

There's my two cents.
