A Window Into The Real World

James L. Lambert writes a great article at OneNewsNow.com with a crystal clear explanation of the peculiarities of the illegal immigration driver's license flap:
It should be clear to our local, state, and federal leaders -- but it's not. Our political leaders need to wake up to the fact that Americans throughout the country are unwilling to allow people who are here illegally to secure state-sanctioned driver's licenses.

Everyone knows that official identification in the possession of illegal immigrants is bad news for upholding the rule of law. It's already hard enough for federal officials, including officials from INS and ICE, to uphold the laws that protect our national sovereignty.

Just 15 or 20 years ago, a local citizen could call and expect the INS to at least respond to violations. But no more. If our politicians hand illegal immigrants official state driver's licenses or identification cards, their legal status will be solidified.

It is absurd to reward aliens who have no regard for the rule of law by giving them driver's licenses. Even some liberals, such as Senator Chris Dodd (D-Connecticut), comprehend this. And CNN recently conducted a listener survey that revealed that 82 percent of its typically liberal listener base thinks it's wrong to grant driver's licenses to people who are here illegally.

Yet supposed presidential frontrunners Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani don't get it. When asked to comment on New York's recently failed effort to provide drivers licenses to illegals, presidential wanna-be Clinton waffled on her response. Giuliani, as well, doesn't understand the passion that most Americans have when it comes to this issue. The public is fed up with federal, state, and local government's reluctance in enforcing U.S. immigration laws.

Nationally syndicated Crawford Broadcasting radio talk-show host Paul McGuire provides yet another take on this issue. Politicians giving driver's licenses to illegals is "a deceptive way to do an end-run around immigration laws," he argues. "A driver's license to illegals opens the door to getting things like checking accounts, free government services that U.S. taxpayers must pay for -- and it will (potentially) give them the power to vote."

McGuire elaborates on this statement: "The real purpose of giving driver's licenses to illegals is to mobilize millions of voters who will now vote for big government that will provide them with 'free services' like food stamps, education, and medical care," he says. "Of course, American citizens will have to pay for these services through increased taxes .... An illegal [immigrant] driver's license will bring about millions of illegal votes which will bring about [a] North American Union which will be modeled after the European Union. I warn about this in my book, The Warning. Along with this will come a North American Union constitution which will destroy our freedom of speech and freedom of religion. It all begins with the simple act of giving out driver's licenses to illegals."

Every American concerned about this topic needs to become actively involved and call their local, state, and federal representatives and send a resounding "No." It's about time our politicians get the message.
Explanations don't get any better than that.

There's my two cents.
