Victor Davis Hanson writes a very illuminating piece on RealClearPolitics.com in reflection of the sixth anniversary of 9/11. He examines how some Americans have adopted the "illusory thinking that the present lull is the same as perpetual peace" and "believe that 'our war on terror' remedy is worse than the original Islamic terrorist disease."
With precision rivaling a fine surgeon, Hanson lays out a series of facts and arguments for why these ideas will be deadly to America. Read the whole thing - it's worth a few moments of your time, and is a great perspective piece on what this war is all about.
If only our politicians had as good a grasp of the situation as Hanson, we'd be in a whole lot better shape.
There's my two cents.
