The Editors at NRO write a short piece with some very good advice for Republicans as we move into the upcoming election cycle. Republicans have thus far made some pretty good hay out of calling this Congress the 'do-nothing' Congress, since very little major legislation has been passed into law (as I've blogged about before). The danger here, say the Editors, is that Democrats could very easily turn this message into Republican obstructionism.
Instead, the Republican message should be that the Congress has accomplished so little because it is trying to enact legislation that is so far left-wing that it can't get much traction: raising taxes, forcing taxpayers to finance the killing of human embryos, micromanaging the war, and moving toward nationalized health care.
This should be the message. I think that's a great point!
There's my two cents.
