A Burning Question

San Antonio resident David Bohmfalk is in trouble for flag-burning, but not the way you might think. In response to the illegal immigrant marches over the past year or so, he expressed his anger by burning a Mexican flag in front of the Alamo. The former Texas police chief and military veteran knows his rights, and is deliberately picking this fight to make a point. According to a 1989 ruling by the Supreme Court, it is legal to burn the American flag under the 'free speech' offered by the Constitution. Bohmfalk said, "Why should a foreign flag get any better protection than the American flag?"

Indeed, why should it? I'd love to see this go all the way back to the Supreme Court, where the 1989 decision gets summarily reversed. It would be a nice step in the direction of honoring and defending America.

There's my two cents.
