You probably heard this over the weekend, but President Bush made a surprise visit to Anbar province, which was all but lost to violence just a few months ago. Clearly throwing down the gauntlet for the upcoming battle over the Petraeus report in just a few days, Bush is putting his money where his mouth is and proving that real progress has been made over there. He said, "[t]he decision [for a troop withdrawal] will be made on a calm assessment by our military commanders based on the conditions on the ground, not a nervous reaction by Washington politicians or poll results in the media."
As it should be.
There's my two cents.

Unless I'm wrong, Bush did not have on a 'vest' either. If he did, it was certainly not visible under his shirt.
He was having a ball and soldiers were thrilled at his speech.
