Being overweight boosts the risk of dying from diabetes and kidney disease but not cancer or heart disease, and carrying some extra pounds actually appears to protect against a host of other causes of death, federal researchers reported yesterday. The findings are the result of a study of 39,000 Americans spanning decades, and also agree with another study done a couple years ago. Basically, the study's conclusion is that the relationship between fat and mortality is more complex than we realize.
This should be good news for corporate America folks all over the country, and equally bad news for the spouses of those same corporate America folks! :)
There's my two cents.
