U.S. Bombed Syrian Nuclear Facility?

The plot thickens...

The Jerusalem Post reports on a rumor that the successful bombing raid on a suspected nuclear facility in Syria -- that was previously thought to be carried out by Israeli forces -- was actually conducted by U.S. planes with Israeli forces running cover duty.

While this seems to contradict earlier reports, it would make a bit more sense from the aspect of American technology being a bit more advanced, since the Syrian air defenses (which were actually Russian design) didn't detect the attackers at all.

On the other hand, I'm not convinced the leaders in Washington, D.C. have the guts to authorize such an operation, whereas I have no doubt the Israelis do.

I'm sure we'll be hearing more about it in the future. Regardless, I don't really care who did it...the fact that Syria is denied nuclear weapons is a very, very good thing for the rest of the world.

There's my two cents.
